Why symptoms are only one part of understanding a tooth.
Early decay may be quiet
Tooth decay may have no symptoms in its early stages. As it develops, a cavity, sensitivity, toothache, or a visible change may appear. Not having pain does not establish that a tooth is healthy.
The treatment depends on the finding
The extent of decay influences treatment. A cavity may need a filling; deeper involvement can change the options. Only an individual assessment can establish what is appropriate for a particular tooth.
Use your check-up to ask questions
If you have noticed a change, describe it at your appointment rather than choosing a procedure from a website. Ask what the examination shows and what the proposed next step is intended to achieve. Dr. Abdullah offers a free check-up and consultation; any separately charged investigations or treatment should be discussed first.
