Plan a conversation about dental worries before your appointment.
Mention anxiety when arranging the visit
You can tell the dental team that you feel nervous before you arrive, and remind the dentist at the appointment. Sharing what worries you, including an earlier difficult experience, gives the team useful context. You do not have to minimise your concerns to ask for care.
Agree how to communicate
Ask what will happen and discuss a signal, such as raising a hand, if you need a break. Tell the dentist if you experience pain during treatment rather than trying to endure it silently. Clear communication helps the clinician respond to what you are experiencing.
Discuss what might help you
Some people find breathing exercises, a small object to hold or headphones helpful. Ask what is practical for your appointment and make sure you can still hear instructions. These are coping ideas, not a promise that anxiety will disappear. Sedation is not a confirmed service offered by Dr. Abdullah.
