Imaging decisions should respond to the findings and your dental history.
Imaging answers a clinical question
Dental X-rays can show problems that are not visible during an examination. Whether imaging is needed depends on factors such as symptoms, age, dental history, oral health and risk of disease. It is not automatically necessary at every appointment or for every patient.
Previous images may be useful
Let the dentist know if recent dental images already exist and ask whether they can be obtained from your previous provider. Existing images may help avoid unnecessary repetition, although the dentist needs to decide whether they are appropriate for the current question and of adequate quality.
Ask what the image will clarify
Ask why an image is recommended and how the result could affect the plan. Dental imaging uses radiation, so the decision should be justified for the individual. Dr. Abdullah provides radiographic imaging, but no specific machine, scan type or imaging schedule is confirmed by this website.
